Privacy policy.
This policy explains what information Da Vinci Hidden Codex stores or processes, how advertising, game statistics and privacy choices work, and the options available to players.
Applies to the Android game Da Vinci Hidden Codex (package com.nitroedgestudios.davincihiddencodex).
Da Vinci Hidden Codex is published by NitroEdge Studios LLC ("NitroEdge Studios", "we"). This page explains what information the game handles. Our website has its own privacy policy.
See also the game's terms of use.
1. What the game stores on your device
The game saves your puzzle progress, your sound setting and whether you have seen the introduction in a small file on your device. It never leaves your device, and we cannot see it. Uninstalling the game or clearing its data deletes it.
The game has no accounts, no sign-in, no chat and no way to share content with other players. We do not ask for your name, email, contacts, photos, location or microphone.
2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game is free and shows ads from Google AdMob:
- a full-screen ad now and then between puzzles (never while you are solving one), and
- an optional video you can choose to watch to reveal a puzzle's answer. The answer is also available without a video.
To show and measure ads, Google's software in the game collects information from your device, such as the device's advertising ID, IP address, device model and operating system, app version, and how you interact with ads. Google uses this as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Your choices
- In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, and in US states with privacy laws, the game asks for your choices through Google's consent tool before ads are requested. You can change them at any time with Privacy choices in the game's pause menu.
- On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device's settings (Settings > Google > Ads, or Settings > Privacy > Ads).
- Ads are limited to content suitable for teens.
3. Game statistics and crash reports (Google Firebase)
We use Google Firebase to see how the game is played and to fix problems:
- Firebase Analytics records events such as starting or finishing a puzzle, how long it took, and how many hints were used, together with basic device and app information (device model, operating system, app version, country, an app-instance identifier, and the advertising ID where allowed). We see this only as totals and trends in the Firebase console.
- Firebase Crashlytics sends a report when the game crashes or hits an error: the device model, operating system, app version, the technical details of the error and an installation identifier.
We use this information only to improve the game. It is processed by Google as described in Firebase privacy and security and the Google Privacy Policy. The choices you make in the game's consent screen also apply to Analytics, and you can change them with Privacy choices in the pause menu.
4. Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information through the game, contact us and we will help remove it.
5. Data security and retention
Information is sent to Google over encrypted connections. We do not run our own servers for the game. We do not receive the information Google's ad software collects. We see game statistics and crash reports in Google Firebase; Analytics data is kept for the period set in our Analytics settings (at most 14 months) and crash reports for 90 days, and Google keeps ad data according to its own policies.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or to object to its use. Statistics and crash reports are linked only to random app and installation identifiers, not to your name or contact details; if you want them deleted, contact us with the approximate date you played and we will ask Google to remove them where we can identify them. Requests about ad data are handled by Google (see the links above).
7. Changes
If the game starts handling information in a new way, we will update this page before that version is released and change the effective date above.
