Privacy policy.
This policy explains what information Dots & Boxes Collection stores or processes, how advertising and privacy choices work, and the options available to players.
1. Who we are
Dots & Boxes Collection is published by NitroEdge Studios.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Dots & Boxes Collection mobile application,
including the Android package com.nitroedgestudios.dotsandboxes and future iOS distribution of the same game.
Privacy questions may be sent to support@nitroedgestudios.com.
2. Information stored by the game
The game stores limited information locally on your device so that it can function normally. This may include:
- game progress, challenge progress, results, and retention/progression state;
- gameplay preferences and settings;
- audio, haptic, and presentation preferences;
- a coarse age-range selection used to apply privacy and advertising safeguards.
The age-range selection uses broad categories rather than a date of birth. The game does not ask you to provide your name, email address, phone number, street address, contacts, photos, microphone recordings, or account credentials to play.
NitroEdge Studios does not currently transmit the game’s app-owned gameplay events to a separate analytics provider and does not create a NitroEdge account or persistent cross-app user identifier for Dots & Boxes Collection.
3. Advertising and Google services
Dots & Boxes Collection uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK for advertising and Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) for privacy and consent messaging. When advertising services are allowed to run, Google may automatically process information such as:
- IP address, which may be used to estimate general location;
- app and ad interactions, such as launches, taps, ad impressions, and video views;
- diagnostic and performance information;
- device or account identifiers where permitted by platform settings, age treatment, privacy configuration, and applicable law;
- advertising-related information, such as ads shown to the device.
Google states that Mobile Ads data is encrypted in transit. Google’s handling of this information is also governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
NitroEdge Studios configures Dots & Boxes Collection to use non-personalized advertising treatment for its launch configuration and disables the Google publisher first-party identifier.
4. Age safeguards
Dots & Boxes Collection is intended for a general audience age 13 and older. The app uses a neutral age-range screen to apply conservative privacy protections without requesting a birth date.
- Unknown age: advertising is blocked.
- Under 13: advertising is blocked.
- Age 13–17: Google ad requests, if otherwise allowed, use child-directed treatment and a maximum ad content rating of G.
- Age 18+: advertising remains privacy-gated and non-personalized, with a maximum ad content rating of PG.
The 13–17 treatment is intentionally conservative because the legal definition of a child or minor varies by jurisdiction. The game does not use the age-range choice to create a marketing profile.
5. Consent and privacy choices
Google UMP may show privacy or consent messages based on your region, age treatment, and the requirements that apply to the app. Where Google indicates that a privacy-options entry point is required, Dots & Boxes Collection exposes an Ad Privacy Options control in Settings so you can review or change available choices.
If consent is denied, unavailable, or cannot be resolved, core gameplay remains available. Advertising failures or lack of network connectivity are not intended to block ordinary offline play.
6. Data sharing
NitroEdge Studios does not sell a Dots & Boxes player account database because the game does not require or maintain such an account. Information processed by Google Mobile Ads or UMP may be collected or shared by Google for purposes such as advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, security, diagnostics, and regulatory compliance, depending on the active configuration and applicable law.
We do not use advertising mediation at launch, so no additional third-party ad-network mediation SDK is intentionally included in the initial release configuration.
7. Data retention and deletion
App-owned save data and preferences remain on your device until they are reset, cleared through operating-system controls, or removed when the app is uninstalled, subject to platform backup behavior.
Data processed by Google is retained under Google’s applicable policies and product settings. NitroEdge Studios does not maintain a server-side Dots & Boxes account profile that can be individually deleted on request.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or opt out of certain processing. Available in-app privacy controls should be used for Google advertising/consent choices when presented.
You may also contact support@nitroedgestudios.com with a privacy question or request. Because the game does not require an account, NitroEdge Studios may not possess enough information to associate a request with a particular device or Google advertising record.
9. Security
We minimize the app-owned information used for monetization and keep core game state local to the device. Third-party network transmissions are handled by the integrated provider SDKs using their transport-security mechanisms. No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
10. International use
Google and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Google’s privacy documentation describes its international data practices and legal safeguards.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, advertising configuration, privacy requirements, or applicable law changes. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are published.
